The Brief Encounter is a series of bi-monthly events in which we invite interesting people to speak on a subject of their own choice. The meetings are at 8pm, now normally on the third Tuesday of the odd-numbered months. They are free of charge, and open to all.

From October 2008 to August 2011 the meetings were held at "The Brief" in George Street, hence the name, but The Brief has now closed down. For the time being the meetings are being held in the upstairs bar of The Spread Eagle, 39-41 Katharine Street, Croydon CR0 1NX.
